Below is a list of species currently present in the world of Caeton. The majority can be played as a character, though the select few off limits will be noted.
Humans [lifespan=70 years]
-Available for Character Creation-
Taking up about 60% of the species that live in Caeton, humans are by far the most common and politically powerful. While not entirely special on their own, humans can learn a variety of skills and are known for their intelligence, adaptability, and perseverance. Equiped with weapons they’ve created for themselves, the humans are probably at the top of the hierarchy and are generally tolerated by most other species. However, their power did leave them feeling a little superior, and they tend to show disdain bred into them over generations towards other races. Choosing a human for your character would probably give you the most choices and opportunities for your character—as they can live a variety of life-styles and prove a name for themselves in all opportunities. It should be noted that both dragon-tamers and famo are not considered human, though famo consider themselves to be so. Tamers are held in a slightly higher regard by humans than the famo, who are flat outright rejected from the norm society. See ‘racism’ and ‘the human class’ page in the World Archive board for more information on this race.

Elves [lifespan=450 years- long for higher order]
-Available for Character Creation-
Elves are humanoid figures typically a few inches taller than humans (usually 5’9-7 feet). They are typically willow thin figures with angular faces, earthy toned hair, and skin that can range from dark brown to pale white. However, they are typically stronger and faster than the norm—wielding heavier weapons and bows with stronger pulls. In addition to this, they typically practice magic more commonly than the humans do and magic is not shunned in their society. However, the elven folk are reclusive and have practiced isolation over the centuries. For the past six-hundred years, the elves have remained an active part of society, but have been recently been withdrawing from participation in political and warring activities; practicing neutrality and lessening their valuable trade.
The elves live typically under their own command, though they do live on Caetonite land which is, officially, under the rule of the humans and their Queen. They do not make trouble, however, and are generally left alone to their own devices. The elves live off in the forests in the West, but there are smaller traveling nomadic clans and those who chose to travel by their lonesome or with a group of others. With their expertise in magic, elves are known for being healers as well—serving in hospitals, small businesses, and traveling caravans. It is not uncommon for one to go to an elf healer for their aliments, as magic is considered a normal part of elfish society (where going to a famo, where it is considered unnatural, is not).

Dwarves [lifespan=250 years]
-currently unavailable for Character Creation-
Famo [lifespan=120 years]
-Available for Character Creation-
Witches and Wizards they're called-- equally feared and hated as powerful and magical as they are. Witches with their powers rooted in earth and nature, and Wizards with their flashy sky magic make up a very small percentage of Caetonite population- but are undeniably able to make a difference. While typically shunned, most humans don't actually inherit their skills but rather learn them-- its the prejudiced after that sets them apart as a separate race than the capable blood in their veins. Most humans and elves are quite capable of learning magic- it's only those brave enough to do so that become the witches and warlocks heard about in tales. Typically working alone or in small groups, there are various orders and secret bureaucracies that govern these people as they are not represented at the council that rules Caeton. Many are loners, only occasionally listening or attending these ordering meetings, usually hidden in normal society or coming straight out to use their powers for healing or mercenary work. Famo are typically held in neutral regard by the dwarves and tamers, respected by the elves, and disliked by most humans.
There are no classes that define the Famo- it should only be noted that they take up about 3% of Caetonite population.
Dragon Tamers [lifespan= 70 years]
-Available for Character Creation—currently only accepting Aeri and Nord Clan characters, as well as a rare, well developed, non-clan member tamer-
The Dragon Tamers of Caeton have developed their kind over the last several hundred years. Starting from small group of bold tamers and weaving deeper into the metaphysical and magical planes of bonds, relationships, and a completely new lifestyle, the dragon tames have long since been a revered, structured, and complex group of individuals. The tamers have been slowly divided into five separate clans, four in the west, one in the east all with unique infrastructures, cultures, and purpose—the Aeri , Nord, Camper, Ocea, and Tenya Clan. After a very long and not well recorded several hundred years, the Aeri, Camper, and Tenya Clans submitted (under ambiguous circumstances) to the human kingdom sweeping over the land. Converted and taken over quickly, the clans of tamers were groomed into militaristic groups that functioned as a powerful and unmatched military for the Human Kingdom. However, inner turmoil between the remaining clans and those that submitted leaves the Clans constantly at war with one another in addition to the battles elsewhere. The lifestyle in the Clans is built around this, and you can expect any character from one of these clans to be groomed for it.
A dragon tamer is one who shares a metaphysical bond (similar, but not quite, like shared empathy) with their dragon that has been passed down over the centuries so well that being able t form a metaphysical bond became an ethnic trait of the clans and highly uncommon outside then. 97% of the time, a tamer hails from one of the Clans, and 2% of that time remaining is a tamer who chose or was forced to leave their Clan. For more information on metaphysical bonds, clan life and structure, and dragons themselves, head to the World Archives.
