HIERARCHY AND STRUCTURE
Hierarchy follows the same suit for both the Ocea and Camper Clans as well as the Aeri Clan itself. The only difference in hierarchy between the three is the classes, which can be found in respective 'Class' threads for each clan.
• Commander: absolute leader of clan, answers only to the Queen of the human legion herself. Runs and oversees all clan activities and the training of the younglings. He also oversees general clan life and all military action. His or her final order, unless challenged by nearly all in the clan, is law.
• Second: The Commander’s second does more of the physical activities that the Commander oversees. He or she sometimes represents the commander or runs the clan while he is absent or the Commander gives him explicit permission. The Second’s word is as valuable as the Commander, but, again, the Commander has the final say, and both of them can be overruled by a word from the Queen.
• Lieutenant Elite: Basically a third in command, highest ruler in case of a situation where both the Second and the Commander cannot be called upon/are killed. They also lead the Elite Class as well as representing a class of their own.
• [Class Here] Elite: specifies that the person is the most skilled/experienced/overall best of their specific class and will represent their class/regiment of the Clan. They will attend all meetings called by the Commander, oversee their regiment’s day-to-day activities, and will command their specific class in war and other moments of crisis. Report to the Lieutenant Elite. The Elites also work as a sort of first response team, each of them highly specialized in their class but replaceable to the point where they see battle and mission work frequently. Occasionally, the Second will command the Elites, but the second usually oversees the more general functions of clan life. However, it is more common for the Second to lead the group than the Commander. Varies in age.
• Senior [Class Here]: usually a very experienced and well respected member of their class. They are usually quite good at what they do, if just a hair below the expertise of the Elite of their group. Typically 28 years and above.
• [Class Here]: refers to your average member of a class. Usually between 20-29 years old.
• [Class Here] Rook: specifies a still learning member of a class, usually between 14-19 years old that have decided on what class they wish to pursue--usually taught by one or two knowledgeable senior members of their class. Once they have achieved an acceptable level of skill and specialization, they are prompted to the title of their class without the subnote of Rook. These types of rooks will occasionally see battle, especially if they are nearing the end of their training--usually only gain experience. However, they only really see intense warfare in times of very great need, as they are still viewed as minors.
• Rook: usually a young member of a class between 12-15 years old. they are usually taught by Senior members of various classes to learn a basic skills from each class. Once they have proved to be well-versed or willing to specialize in a specific class, they are taken under the wing of one or two senior members of one class and spend the next three to six years specializing and honing their skills. Rooks almost never see official battle, and only then in very specific circumstances.
• Youngling: Those under the age of 12. Attend schooling from ages 6-12 and otherwise roam mostly unsupervised throughout the clan. However, many of the younglings know exactly how to behave, where to go, what and what not to do, and a reprimand from a Senior or an Elite will keep them in check. However, there has been some recent debate about younglings in Clans, due to the harsh and brutal lifestyle of a tamer Clan, and the Clans aren’t well known for being places for children. Many of the children born into the Clans will not be seen playing in the street or just being children, the strict rules and upbringings preventing a lot of that. However, many of the children in the clan, while they grow respectful and mature, do not lose their childlike attitudes or capabilities and can grow up with little repression. Others become living examples for some discussion about the healthiness of allowing Children to live in this kind of environment.
• [Class Here] Hoarier: A retired warrior. Usually 50+ years, although life expectancy in the clan is at the ripe age of 32, not due to disease, but rather because of their unfortunate tendency to die in combat. A warrior who survives combat usually lives seventy plus years. Hoarier are highly respected in the clan, usually do to the unlikeliness of survival to that age, and are treated quite well along with their dragons until they pass away.
