CLASSES
(Aeri)
(Aeri)
o Dragon Type: Flight is almost essential, and Faerie and Earthen dragons usually won’t do—although the archer could hitch a ride with another rider while their faerie slipped inside a sleeve.
• Blacksmithing/Design Class: Making up about 5% of the clan, the blacksmiths are those who forge the detailed and complex weaponry, armor, and tools of the Clan. Due to the complicated classes and skill sets of the various parts of the clan, blacksmithing and design is a huge part of daily clan life and the right weight, balance, and quality of the tools, weaponry, and clothing can make or break a battle. They forge and repair weaponry and armor for both the humans and their dragons, as well as design and create uniforms, riding gear, and other items. Rarely do they enter battle, repairing and forging weapons post battle instead.
o Dragon Type: Blacksmiths and designers do usually have dragons, though typically they tend to be eastern style, flightless, or faerie. Other times, these dragons possess powerful and controlled fire-breathing to assist with forgery.
• Calvary Class: Making up about 8% of the clan, the Calvary class is specifically designed for frontal assaults usually in the air. They are trained for specific attack patterns and techniques separate from the main combat class to, well; bring in the cavalry when needed. They are designed in ranks for mobility, speed, and occasionally delivering essential messages.
o Dragon Type: Quicker dragons built for speed and endurance are good. Faerie and nonflying dragons are usually not permitted, although a quick flightless dragon over land is the occasional rare asset.
• Combat Class [General]: This group makes up about ⅔ of the clan. They are specialized in fighting with a wide range of weapons and for general head on combat. They are split half and half between aerial fighters and ground fighters.
• Combat Class [Ground]: This group is most comfortable fighting on the ground, where their dragons might be more bulky and sturdy or unable to fly at all and work better in a style similar to large, powerful horses. Their weapons come from a wide variety, usually swords and lances- although short-range and quick firing bows are not uncommon amongst the spears and javelins.
• Combat Class [Aerial]: Aerial fighters usually are well versed in fighting with other flying species (usually other dragons) and make up a larger part of the clan than you might think. Due to the frequent and long warring with other Dragon clans, a good chunk of this clan and their dragons know how to fight others of the same kind. These combaters are used to close-corridors with other aerial fighters and use a range of spears, swords, and other long weapons or short-range bows to get their job done.
o Dragon Type: flight is essential, with the exception of the faerie class, in which a ride would need to be hitched.
• Handlers: A smaller percentage of the Clan, about five percent, makes up the Handlers. Handlers are those who work with the dragons and can handle them the best. Typically, they're the ones that make sure that food is disrupted, that the eggs are gathered and safe, and take care of unbonded and debonded dragons that happen to reside in the camp. Handlers understand dragons and know how they work and think, as well as their mechanics and their limits physically. They are often called upon when dragons are captured in war or when running into wild dragons for their expertise and handling.
o Dragon Type: No effect.
• Healer Class: Medics make up the smallest percentage of the clan side the specialist classes. Like the name suggests, this class specializes in medical activities on and off the battlefield ranging from surgery, carting wounded, and normal ailments in humans and their partners.
o Dragon type usually has little effect on this class, as heavier flightless dragons can act as transport for emergencies, and flying ones for the same situation. However, eastern and faerie dragons are not uncommon due to their wisdom, precision, and sometimes magical properties.
• Specialists: Usually making up of only a handful of the clan, specialists are... well, specialists. They usually are treated with varying degrees of respect and information, and are given specific tasks and jobs very few others would be able to get done with the same efficiency. Half the time, these members are elites, while the other half of the time they are too young, too inexperienced, or too unpredictable to be considered as such.
o Dragon Type: No effect.
