n a m e – aria ivette makena
n i c k n a m e (s) – n/a
m e a n i n g - o f - n a m e – aria means lioness, ivette means archer, and makena means born of fire. Together, they spell AIM.
a g e —twenty-two
d a t e - o f - b i r t h -- 23/1/1610
s e x -- female
s e x u a l - o r i e n t a t i o n – x.

APPEARANCE
- who do you see in the mirror? -
- who do you see in the mirror? -
p l a y - b y -- Megan Farquhar
h e i g h t -- five feet and seven inches
w e i g h t – 134 pounds
p o s t u r e -- straight and controlled, hands folded behind back.
b u i l d -- lean and well-muscled. Broad-shoulders, scrappy build.
s k i n -- tanned skin, lightly freckled on nose and arms.
h a i r -- Aria has brown hair that varies in color. She’s exposed almost constantly to the sun in the summer and spring months, giving her a light brown color, but once fall and winter roll around and she begins to wear heavier cloaks and protective gear, her exposure to the sun is minimized and her hair can be seen as a very dark brown.
e y e s – light brown/hazel colored.
f a c e - s h a p e – thin sharp face with a stronger, flater chin.
e x p r e s s i o n s? -- Aria’s smiles are either one of two things. The first is usually tight lipped, often accompanied by a sarcastic set of eyes, a smirk of sorts that seems almost painful to give off, as if she’s laughing at bitter irony. Her second smile is a small tug of lips, eyes much softer than in the first, as will often be the only thing you see of her face during these smiles--slightly tugged smile usually hidden behind a hand, shoulder, or scarf.
t a t t o o s / s c a r s? -- Aria is missing the lower half of one arm. Her upper arm is strung with burn marks in perfectly measured scars that continue up her neck, down the other side, and down her arm up until her hand--to which it fans out along each finger. There was a matching set on her missing arm until it was destroyed, and the marks, while burns, can seem created out of artistic design at times. Aria also produces a white stab mark in her lower abdomen, a long thin scar between her shoulder blades, and similar burn marks to the ones on her arm along her legs.
r i g h t - o r - l e f t - h a n d e d? – originally right handed, Aria is now left handed alone.
d i s t i n q u i s h i n g - f e a t u r e s? -- Aria often keeps her hair in a bun or tight braid. Her burn marks are a very prominent feature, but are often concealed by gloves and scarves. In fact, most people aren’t even aware of them, nor the fact that she is missing an arm, due to the fact that her tamer’s uniform is designed for cold winds and covers her arms and face almost completely, and her neck when the hood is down.
h e a l t h -- After a sickly childhood, Aria one day sat down with a chest-cold that wouldn’t go away, and completely just tried to outthink being sick. She literally told her brain, I’m done being sick, let’s not do it anymore, and, well, somehow, it worked. Aria rarely gets sick as the epitome of human health at the time, in top shape fitness wise and eating actually pretty well for the time where health in food wasn’t a huge priority. However, when she does get sick, Aria gets hit pretty hard.
p h y s i c a l - q u a l i t i e s? Aria has a pretty face, features sharp and evident with high-cheek bones and sharp eyebrows. She’s muscled enough to be able to stand strong in combat, and some of the braids she produces can be quite elegant.
p h y s i c a l - f l a w s Aria is scarred all over her body, her burns the most twisted and hard to look at, as well as the most obvious disfigurement of the loss of half her lower right arm. Aria’s nose is slightly flatter, in contrast to the rest of her sharper face. Her eyes are often too narrowed and unyielding to produce any beauty and her posture and demeanor too stiff to be graceful or elegant.
MIND
- layers layers and layers? -
- layers layers and layers? -
i n t e l l i g e n c e - l e v e l -- Aria is no intellectual genius, only learning basic schooling [reading, writing, politics, economics] through her training. She’s not an engineer, nor a professor, but her tactical skills are very high level as a soldier. She also has a decent amount of crafting and blacksmithing skills. She can’t do algebra or alchemy, and most magic and technology goes completely over her head, but Aria’s strategy and wisdom in combat is her main strength. s c h o o l i n g? -- level of schooling your character received
s e l f - c o n f i d e n c e? -- Aria has a fair amount of confidence in her own skills. She knows what she can do, not over, and generally won’t second guess herself about these things.
d o m i n a n t - o r - s u b m i s s i v e? -- Aria is actually a bit of a neutral here. She doesn’t automatically assert authority, and will often yield to it instead. On the other hand, being challenged is not something she does well, especially when she hadn’t been threatening in the first place, and Aria will retaliate. It depends on the situation and the person for Aria to have a specific orientation she would fall under.
p a t i e n c e - l e v e l -- Aria is a sniper. Patience is a virtue.
s e n s e - o f - h u m o r – Aria is secretly trolling you all.
c h a r a c t e r / p e r s o n a l i t y / m e n t a l / s o c i a l - f l a w s? structured, militarized, narrow-minded, blindly following orders [unable to see flaws in superiors easily], repression of emotions, overly-serious, passive, awful with people, blunt, perfectionist, self-worth, lack of motivation [recent]
c h a r a c t e r / p e r s o n a l i t y / m e n t a l / s o c i a l - s t r e n g t h s? : levelheaded, tenacious, fiercely loyal, respectful of authority, sense of morality, tactical, strategic, good at reading situations before they occur, observant, detail-oriented, calm, fearless, serious.
w h i c h - o f - t h e - s e v e n - v i r t u e s - d o - t h e y - r e s e m b l e ? diligence
w h i c h - o f - t h e - s e v e n - s i n s - d o - t h e y - r e s e m b l e ? wrath
o p t o m i s t - o r - p e s s i m i s t? -- pessimist
i n t r o v e r t - o r - e x t r o v e r t? -- introvert
b i g g e s t - v u l n e r a b i l i t y - (non-physical?) – push her buttons right and Aria will just get so angry.
g r e a t e s t - f e a r? –
o t h e r - f e a r s - a n d - p h o b i a s? – Aria gets on edge, irritable, and anxious when in cold climate, when animals are being branded/seeing hot pokers, being underground, being unable to see Tego, and being unable to move her hands. Er, hand.
EMOTION
- what makes your mirror crack? -
- what makes your mirror crack? -
m o r a l i t y -- Aria has always believed up until very recently that the ends will often justify the means. She will not kill or maim unnecessarily, but upon orders in the past, Aria has killed many, many people in assassination and battle.
s e l f - c o n t r o l -- The self-control Aria has over herself is partially due to discipline drilled into her, and partially due to her own. She has incredibly control over her body, and her suppression of self and emotions is almost unyielding--only very recently has Aria been unable to restrain herself from making a comment or action due to
, and shortly after she turned 13 after her parents had recently died.
r e a c t i o n - t o / d e a l i n g - w i t h--
Danger/Conflict-- Aria keeps a very calm and level head when faced with almost all danger. She appears fearless in this sense when confronted with danger, and while she tends to be more confident in her own abilities to get herself out of most situations alive, the fear, however repressed and drilled away, is still there. Social conflict she will generally try to avoid at all costs, unless it affects her, in which case she’ll likely intervene and try to peacefully sort out the conflict. If it involves her, however, she’ll become increasingly more defensive and tense as the severity of the situation increases until her cool demeanor is forced away under the pressure of the situation.
Fear-- She has a very tight control over her own fear, though that does not mean she doesn’t experience it. Aria generally tends to keep a blank face over most things, though you can spot when she is nervous or fearful by how rigid her stance is. While when confronted with pain or guilt or other negative emotions, Aria tends to go very, very still, freezing in place- but you can tell the difference between those emotions and fear by how tightly she tends to lock her hands together when fearful.
Loss-- Aria becomes quite cynical and resenting when she loses something, or someone, that she cares about. She gets snappish and confrontational and knows she doing it, so she usually tries to direct her energy (once she realizes how offending she’s being) towards something else. It’s not uncommon to see Aria, one her worst of days, firing arrow after endless arrow at the same tree, over and over and over again until her hand- or, once upon a time, hands- are bleeding and her arms are shaking.
Romance-- Most flirting will go straight over Aria’s head. She really doesn’t see romance as a priority, nor something she will ever be comfortable with, and will not be looking for it in the most obvious of places. If completely blatant, the normally completely cool headed Aria might pause and blink, and possibly get horribly embarrassed and nervous depending on the.... strength of the innuendo. Displaying this, well, Aria doesn’t... flirt. >> If for some last-resort highly unlikely and likely fictional sex-pollen was doused on her or something, Aria’s flirting style would be aggressive and blunt. Like the rest of her.
Pain-- Aria has a very high threshold for pain. She rarely shows pain beyond the mask, and when she does it usually follows under her stock-stillness with the added variation of possible swaying or closed eyes. She deals with pain by reveling in it, which you can see when she does close her eyes, acknowledging the pain, however briefly, until she can get a stoic face back in place once more.
Stress-- Stress doesn’t get to the young woman very easily, but when things do get really tough on her, Aria resorts to her loss mode, with the torturously long archery practice. However, when too keyed up or stressed out, she will likely be unable to reach that calm set, aim, fire, repeat mode, and become increasingly frustrated with herself until infuriated with her own skills.
Guilt-- Aria expresses guilt often through seclusion. She will perform a... strategic retreat until she can piece together how to fix whatever she’s screwed up. Usually, she’ll end up delivering an apology to the person she hurt and will try to make it up to them in an ‘I-owe-you’ or very quietly getting her hands on something that person has mentioned wanting [like a gift, not a person or a kingdom or something xD] and very quietly leave it somewhere she knows they’ll find it. She won’t mention it, or the incident again after the apology/gift, and she’ll deny having anything to do with the gift at all. Should it be a circumstance where she can’t fix anything, namely if the person is dead or unwilling to talk to her, Aria will withdraw for a while until she can move past whatever it is.
Being Wrong-- The sudden realization of being wrong will usually stop Aria dead in her tracks with a hand pressed to her eyes and several muted swears in a row. From there, it usually depends on the thing she was wrong about. An apology, trying to fix what went wrong, are both usually good guesses for what she’ll do in an average situation.
Being Insulted-- Again, 97% of the time, Aria will inwardly roll her eyes and move on from the conversation. The remaining 3% can be divided into the categories of becoming genuinely amused by the comment and the person who said it and actually laugh out loud, which can be just as unsettling as her aiming an arrow between your eyes. [an example of this might be a comment on her archery skills, to which she’s confident enough about to laugh at an insult, and most things she doesn’t care about/has loads of confidence will likely fall under brush-off/amusement category, though it usually depends on her mood]. Another 1% can be given way to actual hurt and the other 1% to anger [insulting one of those people, or one of the dragons she has/is riding] although it ultimately depends on her mood/mental-strength/fragility at the time.
Offending Others-- Again, unless it’s towards a person she really has no respect for and will have no regrets over the things she says, Aria will likely formally apologize.
Humiliation-- Humiliation won’t show much on Aria’s face in the form of actual embarrassment, and if she shows anything at all it’ll likely be frustration.
e x p r e s s i n g--
Anger-- When Aria is angered, you can see it on her whole body if you know where to look. The way her nails dig into her hands, the ridgity of her body, the clench of her jaw. Most of the time, Aria can keep her anger under control and only express these things, but when she’s particularly pissed off, she might snap in response. When she’s not directly confronted with the source of her anger, you can feel he lingering remnants of it in particular force in the shots that she fires, or a particularly sharp comment to Tego or general frustration.
Sadness-- Like most things, Aria typically doesn’t seem to change at all when confronted with something tragic or saddening, which is one of the things that drives a rift between her and other people due to the uncaring attitude Aria seems to have when it comes to almost all things. However, Aria deals with sadness by pretending that nothing has changed at all, or, at least, quieting significantly. The more she is affected by the event, the less Aria will wish to do with everything. She’ll just feel really… tired of it all and not want to do much of anything but knows she must. There’s a breaking point for her where she wants to stop and actually does stop, but that’s only happened once in her entire life when

, but, then again, there wasn’t much for her to carry on doing in the end of it anyways.
Fear-- Aria expresses fear though a very silent, almost eerie stillness.
Happiness-- Happy, Aria’s movement completely contrast with that of frustration and fear. Her balance and movements will be fluid and graceful, and she’ll be significantly more easy-going and good-natured. She might even, god-forbid, make a joke, or smile, and, whadda know, her cheeks won’t crack, though she’ll often turn her head or make sure her mouth is hidden behind a shoulder or scarf before allowing herself this indulgence. Of course, this is all around people she doesn’t know well, while, with close friends or, not surprisingly, animals, she’ll be more relaxed and speak more freely, and laugh.
Stress-- Aria expresses being stressed out, or nervous through increasing amounts of frustration until she can find an out through something to wear her out, mentally more than physically. This is how she shows her worry as well, and you can tell if Aria’s pacing or tense, that she cares.
f i g h t i n g - s k i l l s -- Aria is trained in combat, and while she’s more adept to combat on said dragons she rides as well general fighting skills, Aria has basic knowledge of most weapons and is extremely proficient with a bow.
f i g h t i n g - s t y l e -- Aria has a very high pain-tolerance and level of endurance. Her fighting style often relies on less physical strength, and more manipulation of other’s movements to counter with her own attacks. As an archer, Aria prefers less of physical combat and more of a distant attack. Her fighting style revolves around this, less brutal attacks and more forcing others away from her, pushing them back, forcing them away so she can shoot them down. When this style of manipulative fighting, of weaving and twisting, will not work all the time--too many attackers, nothing to strike them down with--Aria’s attack quickly turns to one of quick counters of maximum accuracy, but little power and benefit in the long-run.
w e a p o n - o f - c h o i c e – bow.
m e d i c a l - k n o w l e d g e -- Aria has very, very basic knowledge of medical procedures from her training, but she is no surgeon.
d e a l i n g - w i t h - w o u n d s – Aria can handle blood and gore easily.
m a g i c a l - s k i l l s – Aria has no magical training, though she does have a knowledge of how magic works and can actually preform one spell on herself. She has no further interest in learning or using magic in combat.
v i e w s - o n - m a g i c? Aria… accepts it.
h o b b i e s/p a s t - t i m e s -- Aria likes animals in general, and will often take the other animals around her clans out for exercise. She enjoys target practice as well.
t a l e n t s – Give Aria a target and she can hit it.

ACTIONS
- the person in the mirror mimics me -
s k i l l s -- The young woman has a variety of skills mostly taught to her from a very young age. She’s a dragon tamer and acts like it, she knows animals and their behaviors and can tell you what to do, when to do it, and whether a situation with an animal or beast can be salvaged or not. Aria’s in top shape, trained for combat. She is a very calm and tactical person with the ability to keep a very level head in high adrenaline situations and can think very quickly on her feet. Due to the almost militarized culture she grew up with, she can be ready for combat on an almost moment’s notice, sleep anywhere or function on no sleep at all, and make the tough calls. Having worked in the air with a unit, She has learned predict the movements of others and natural things very easily. - the person in the mirror mimics me -
